Pursuing Good in a Godly Way

October 12, 2022

God calls us Catholic mamas to incredible things. But sometimes, we pursue those really good things… in a twisted way. If you are a Catholic mama who is feeling stressed, it might be because you’re doing something God wants you to do… in a way He doesn’t want you to do it.

In this episode, Sterling breaks down how you can tell if you’re doing something in a twisted way and what to do about it if you are.

TRANSCRIPT OF THE SHOW

Hi, and welcome to the Made for Greatness podcast. I’m your host, Sterling Jaquith, and today we’re talking about pursuing something good in a godly way. One of the ways that the devil tempts Catholic moms is he gets them to pursue something that is good, but to pursue it in a twisted way, a warped way. Remember, the devil cannot create anything. He can only twist. And so we have been created female. And for those of us who have been called to the vocation of motherhood, that includes shepherding these souls. We are also receptive beings. Sister Miriam talks about this in her book, Loved as I Am, I believe in that book. I’ve seen her speak a few times, and she talks about how women were created to receive, receive people into their hearts and into their homes. It’s why so often we kind of know what someone is feeling and what they need.

Hosts

Lorissa Horn & Sterling Jaquith

Sterling and Lorissa are very different moms. Lorissa lives in town, her family loves playing baseball, and she’s proud to send them to Catholic school. Sterling lives in the country, her family loves camping, and she unschools the kids.

The thing these women have in common, an unyielding devotion to Christ. Seriously, if you hang out with either of them, they’re gonna talk about Jesus, a lot. He’s the center of their life.
